Because I'm a sleepy, lazy, fatigued human being, I'm only writing this now 😂 . So, Monday morning, I arrived at the hospital at 9am with mum. We were told that the case before me had only just gone in and that they'd be a while, so we got comfy. Around 11:30, the nurse came around and said that they were finishing up soon and that it was time to get dressed. Cue this sexy outfit:Â

At 12:58, I finally got taken through to the operating prep room. With my veins being as troublesome as they are, I sat for the next hour with a heatpack on my hands while the surgeons and nurses got everything ready. Thankfully, it only took them 3 goes to cannulate me this time, (probably a record for fewest attempts 😅) The only other thing I remember before the anaesthetic kicked in, was the nurse tuning my bed around so I could look out the window 😂 . When I woke up in recovery, I was in quite a bit of pain. I remember my incision site just aching and my whole belly hurting. The nurses in recovery were all very lovely and pumped me full of pain killers. Finally at about 6pm, the pain and eased enough for me to be taken to the ward. . I was given a dinner of juice and jelly, and after a brief visit from my darling partner who brought me beautiful flowers and Bernie the bear, I tried to get some sleep.Â

. Night 1 didn't go very well. I was on hourly obs for a while, so I was awake every hour, but also my bowels were very much asleep so the juice I had drunk was sitting very unfortably near my diaphragm. . Day 2 After finally snoozing for a few hours, I woke up still in quite a bit of pain with that juice and water still sitting and not moving anywhere far anytime fast. Mum came around late morning and we decided that going for a walk might help get things moving. I made it out to the hallway when my vision started going black, and my head felt really funny. So I legged it back to the chair that is beside my bed, and promptly fainted. Mum got my legs elevated and held my head until I started to come round. I woke up to my ears ringing and everything sweating. Mum got a nurse to help me back into bed where I slowly started feeling better. #yaylowbloodpressure . The rest of the day was essentially spent snoozing as much as I could in between brief visits from a few friends and family. . Throughout the day, I had been sipping on liquids, but they had been sitting and not moving, so I was still quite uncomfortable. At about 8pm I had a little vom, mainly just most of the liquid that had been sitting there for most of the day. The nausea passed after that and I managed to go back to snoozing. But at 11pm, I managed to pass some gas! This meant things are starting to move, albeit very slowly. Managed to get a bit of sleep over night too! Â
