Day 8 — After finally getting my drip in late last night, I had very broken sleep over the remainder of the evening. . Over night, my pulse rate had increased quite considerably and wasn't going down really at all. The doctors were a bit concerned with that.. But not with the consistent pain that's in my side 😓 They took off my dressing to see if it was pulling and causing the pain (it wasn't)

. After breakfast, one of the stoma therapists came to take out the rods that had been holding my stoma up. This. Hurt. The rods were stitched in so tight that I almost fainted with them pulling it out. Thankfully the lovely stoma nurse was happy to put my bag on for me while I waited for my head to stop spinning 😂 We've decided to try Coloplast convex bags as my stoma is quite small.. These convex bags push the skin back so that the stoma has room to spurt 😝

. The doctors came back shortly after this to tell me that they wanted to a CT Scan this afternoon to check out my stomach and make sure that there was no infection in there . Had to drink this really "lovely" contrast drink before the scan and then, when I got down there, got given an iodine flush which made me smell and taste iron and feel like I was peeing myself 😅😂 But the scan itself went OK...

. I was told that I still had to fast after my scan so I had a nap. When I woke up, I asked my nurse if I was able to eat or drink again.. So she said she'd go check. The angel came back with some sandwiches and some fresh water.. Such a blessing.

Only for a doctor to run in just after to tell me that I was only allowed clear fluids -.- Just my luck. . Turns out I have an infection in my side where my drain was.

Received my first round of antibiotics tonight and will get some more around midnight 😛 No rest for the wicked, Eh?!
