Hospital Stay - Day 2

Day 2 — Didn't sleep much at all last night so I've been dozing off and on all day. . This morning mum gave me a sponge bath to freshen myself up then I managed to stand up and make my way to sit on a chair! This hurt a lot and made me dizzy but it happened. It's a big step for me haha. . The stoma therapist came and saw me shortly after that and she changed my bag for the first time. She made the comment that it's a very neat and tidy stoma so that's a real positive! 💩 . The physio came for a visit after that and I managed to walk up the hallway and back again, only with a crutch as support. I was very proud of that and so was the physio.🏥 . Because I was now allowed clear fluids I had been drinking quite a lot of water which ended up making me so bloated, it was putting pressure on my stitches. This hurt A LOT. I was in the most pain I've been in since waking up. Maybe an 8/10 and the pain killer button wasnt hitting it at all. So I was given some different pain killers and ended up having a sleep. . I slept so deeply that I didn't hear the dinner lady bring my broth and jelly, not did I hear my brother come in and sit down until he tapped me on the shoulder 😂 . At this point, a new physio had come in and wanted me to do another walk. She wasn't really impressed by the fact that I was in pain, but my nursed backed me up and told her that I had exceed expectations for what I could do for day 2. So I got off without having to walk 😅 . It's 8:30 now and I'm just waiting for the nurse to bring me my nightly pills. To make it all easier, I am enjoying being surrounded by flowers given to me by my fiance, my work family, and my highschool friends 💕🌷🌹🌺

. So.. I'm slowly starting to feel better. I'm in quite a bit of pain still but that's to be expected. I'm hoping to get a few hours of sleep tonight 😴

Emptied my bag by myself for the first time tonight... We had a bit of an Oopsies 💩 spillage... Thank goodness for anti-bacterial wet wipes 😂🙈. Gotta start somewhere though haha.. Getting some practice in!
