In February, I went in for my annual colonoscopy, which again, showed intense acute inflammation and proved that vedo just wasn’t working either. Thankfully, all biopsy results came back benign, so I hadn't developed cancer just yet. But this means that the next step is to have an ileostomy, something that I had been dreading since I was 14. Its not something that I particularly want, but it’s the only option at this point. With the stricture still quite prominent in my bowel, its not looking to get any better. This would need to be removed eventually anyway as even if I were to have my bowel heal, the stricture would inhibit any normal bowel movements to pass through without causing any damage. In the meantime, I am using Humira injections every 2 weeks to try and keep myself as stable as possible.
My doctor and I agreed that we would wait 6 months and see how my health is running then.
