I was regularly in touch with my gastroenterologist. He had some concerns about the way I was developing physically, (neither mum nor I were incredibly worried… I had always been short and most of my family was short too) but he was quite insistent that the only solution was to completely remove my bowel. Now, at 14, this was a scary thought and thankfully my mum is a nurse and could see that I wasn’t sick enough for that just yet. So, we took a day trip to Melbourne to see a paediatric gastroenterologist who advised us that he believed that this was not the best action to take just yet. Another dead end.
